I recently received freebies from Missha Beauty Products Middle East and very excited to try them out. I was really thinking to try some Korean beauty products and the samples that Missha sent were just in perfect timing. Missha is an internationally renowned skincare and cosmetic company and one of the leading Korean beauty brands. It is founded on the philosophy that makeup should not be an indulgence, but rather an affordable, everyday item for women wanting quality cosmetic products.

I checked their products from Missha website here in Middle East and the prices are definitely affordable. The question is, what about the quality? I did some online research and read some reviews, although many were positive feedback, as a consumer, I would still love to try them out for myself before judging. Besides, everyone of us has their own preference and skin type.

Here are what I got from Missha :)

  • BB Cream (No.27)
  • Matt Painting Rouge Lipstick (Say Cheese)
  • Deep Sea Water Firming Eye Patch (2 sheets)
  • Perfect Skin Tone C.C. Cream (Sample Size)
  • Time Revolution - The First Treatment Essence Cream (Intensive) (Sample Size)
  • Time Revolution - Night Repair Cream (Sample Size)

I tried to use the C.C. Cream for couple of days and it gives a good light to medium coverage in a small amount. It doesn't irritate my skin and the coverage last for hours.

While the cream and cleanser give good skin effect right after I used it. The overall change doesn't show in few days of use of course. But I'm happy that it doesn't irritate me at all.

The eye patches are sure winner for my eyes. It relieves the stressed and tired look on my under eyes and gives a moisturized feeling.

The full sizes of the lipstick and B.B. cream are what I'm most excited about. The B.B. cream surprisingly gives a very good medium coverage and is gentle on my skin. While the matte lipstick has a creamy moisturized effect although it has a matte finish.

So, I did a makeup which is perfect for a summer glam look to go on a party or dinner :) Here are what I used in this makeup look:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (Medium Brown)
  • MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow set Mascara (Bold Brunette)
  • Primer - Maxfactor All Day Facefinity
  • Missha BB Cream (No.27)
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (#150 Neutralizer)
  • Maybelline - FIT Me Shine Free Foundation Stick - Coconut #355
  • Marks & Spencer Loose Powder
  • elf Cosmetics Cool Bronzer
  • NYX Eyeshadow (S130-Wicked Dreams)
  • Deborah Eye Liner Pen (Black)

No brushes makeup challenge?! That's easy! ;) Well, that was what I thought so, until I did the challenge. I was thinking, I can do that! I wasn't using brushes or even sponges back in the days I started doing my makeup, it's all in my hands ;) lol

I first saw this challenge done by Nikkie (Nikkie Tutorials) youtube video and then so many others tried the same. I  don't know who originally did the first challenge, but please...... do not dare us again ;) lol

While doing the makeup challenge, I started to realize, what on earth is happening?! It took me more than 5 minutes just to evenly put on my foundation. And I don't feel satisfied at all. I keep on patting my skin every now and then. Contouring seems a little easier than the foundation but it is still a challenge on how to perfectly blend it. Same thing with the concealer. It was very tricky on how to evenly blend everything :(

Ok, I did cheated a little. I used my brow pencil. Anyhow, it is a NO brushes makeup challenge and I did not use any brushes ;) Although a brush could have make a huge difference in defining my brows. Forgive me, I'm tired already :(

Anyhow, doing my eyeshadow was easier. I didn't dare try to put on eyeliner though, because I'm quite sure that it would be a total mess. Well, putting false eyelashes definitely makes a magic ;)

In a nutshell: Thanks to the brush and sponge goddesses for making our life easier! I was still thinking why on earth I had a problem doing this when in fact, I didn't had such brushes and sponges when I started doing my makeup way back then. Then I realized, maybe because, when I got brushes and sponges I became a little too dependent on them since they make an outstanding fine finishing and blending. And by being too dependent on them, I tend to do more, add more and use more products.

I started doing my makeup with just powder and lipstick; then I learned how to roughly do my brows; and then the power of doing my noselines becomes a necessity; then the contouring trend definitely adds magic to my cheeks; then the highlighting comes; then a more define and perfectly arched brows became an obsession; and so on and so forth.... How can you honestly do all those with your bare hands without spending half day facing your vanity mirror???!

Anyhow, this was a fun challenge and definitely something that I wouldn't try again. Hahaha :)
Here are what I used in this challenge ;)

    • Primer - Maxfactor All Day Facefinity
    • Bourjois Air Mat Foundation (#05 Golden Beige)
    • Wet ‘n’ Wild CoverAll Liquid Concealer Wand (Medium)
    • NYX Contour, Color Corrector and Concealer (3CP03 - Deep/Profound)
    • Maybelline - FIT Me Shine Free Foundation Stick - Coconut #355
    • Marks & Spencer Loose Powder
    • elf Cosmetics Cool Bronzer
    • NYX Liquid Illuminator (Gleam)
    • Anastasia Brow Wiz (Medium Brown)
    • Eye Shadow - Neutral Palette Coastal Scents
    • Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte lipstick (Razzberry)

Hello guys! August was a busy month for me. Celebrations, work and many other extra curricular on the side. Anyhow I still managed to do many kikay activities and updates here in my blog and other social medias. Month of August was indeed good to me because of many opportunities, personal activities and material blessings as well. Yep, that includes me and my husband's quick escape which I featured from my previous post, as well as gifts and good buys I got.

Below are some of my favorites from the many ones I had last month ;) I will also be sharing with you a quick review on each of my picks.

Traders Hotel By Shangri-La - My husband and I had a lovely 2 nights stay here and we really enjoyed their place and hospitality. I have feature this in my previous post. This 4-star hotel in Abu Dhabi is definitely a must-see!

NYX Lingerie (Exotic) - I guess this is one of my best matte liquid lipsticks I have. It doesn't dry up my lips and the color is very pigmented. Although it doesn't last longer than my other liquid lipsticks, I still love its formula and finish. This is one of my best buys from my last NYX products haul.

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation (#5 Golden Beige) - I bought this foundation just to try because my favorite matte foundation is always out of stock. I'm very happy that I tried this because it is now my favorite matte foundation! The coverage is great and the matte powdery finish is just amazing. It doesn't cake-up even for hours and a very light powder retouch is needed throughout the day to keep me fresh.

Maybelline Instant Rewind (Neutralizer) - I love the coverage of this concealer on my under eyes. I'm happy that the color I chose suit my skin tone. It is very light weight and has a smooth finish. I like the rounded sponge-top applicator that helps to smoothen the finishing but I'm also a little concern with it for hygienic reasons.

Daiso Winmax Matte Finish Top Coat - I'm really happy with this matte finish top coat that I bought in Daiso (Yas Mall). For a very cheap price, it gives a perfect matte finish to my regular nail polish. It has a glossy look right after it is applied, but it becomes matte when it completely dries.

Multipurpose Brushes Set - My husband gave me these pretty brushes for our anniversary gift. And yes, he spoiled me too much. He just knows what I want even without asking for it. I totally love its soft bristles and the finish it gives to my skin. Doesn't it just look lovely :)

Sony Alpha 5000 - Yes, again I'm too spoiled :) This is another give from my husband for our anniversary. He saw me how I struggled in doing a youtube video with my mobile and DSLR camera which doesn't have flip screen. And since I'm used to do my videos alone, it is really difficult for me to adjust the focusing and if the light was ok or whatever. I've read some reviews about this camera and based on my own experience, it is very light and handy to use. perfect for vloggers and selfie as well. The focusing and resolution is quite very good too. And this is now added to  my camera collection ;)

I hope you enjoy my few August favorites. I would really love to know what you think of these products and place. Do you have your August favorite/s? I'll love to know about it too :)
